After the much anticipated 10th year of Vivid light show, here’s a run down from the floating side of the past two weeks of spectacular art.
The first weeks weather didn’t help things… torrential rain and 35kt southerlys made both walking and floating wet and horrible, so the clients and I decided to postpone to the following week – winning for all included. The second week we had three charters, one captained by Manu. Weather was much better with clear skies and light airs, making the Lazer show from the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge beam for miles around. This year Luna Park and Lavender bay also had their own exhibitions, with the iconic face being replaced with a clever display and the wheel itself getting a major upgrade. Barangaroo was a bit disappointing, but Walsh Bay Wharf 1 was dressed up beautifully right before we hit the highlight, as always, Sydney Cover aka Circular Quay where the Opera House projections, AMCA, Passenger Terminal, Lazer Shows – it’s unreal to think this is on our doorstep! A truely world class, multilateral connection between artists coming together to create one complete evolving masterpiece. A good video or photo to could be your next hanging wall art piece. Then we head to farm cove, luckily Woorabinda is shallow and we can hug the cove wall very closely getting right up to the art and bustling crowds. It’s only then do you get a grasp of just how much ground you can cover on a boat in such a small amount of time compared to being on land, plus in the comfort of being in a protected saloon! My little iPhone doesn’t do night photos well but luckily every charter had at least one prepared gentleman with a proper camera. I’m sure yours look amazing!!
One week left, so if you want to get onboard it’s $600 for 10 guests, including a yummy cheese and biscuit plate, wharf fees and use of disposables. Just bring warm clothes, non marking shoes and drinks and the rest is onboard. More guests can be arranged.
Thanks to all the lovely guest that came onboard, welcome aboard anytime.
